2025 Season will include our Iditarod Trail tour. This loop takes you through the start of the original trail route. You will go through some of Seward’s most beautiful back country. There is three water crossings and many possibilities to see wildlife. We have partnered with Seward Iditarod Trail Blazers to preserve and promote the history of the trail and race. About us
Not our first rodeo…
Most people in a small town never leave. In 2017 Porkchop and wife Cynthia made the decision to leave their hometown. They risked it all on a barely surviving ATV business in the USVI. After a few years of literal blood sweat and tears, they had built it in to a thriving premier touring business. Feeling accomplished, they took off on a dream vacation. After two days in Seward, Cynthia told Porkchop to get ready to move. Before he he knew what hit him, Porkchop was trading in the warm Caribbean rainforest for a totally different type of rainforest! In 2023 They opened up Bear Necessities Alaska. The two acre property is a seven unit nightly rental oasis. Minutes from town this little slice of heaven in tucked into the massive spruce. It is a quiet escape for any type of traveler. Now that it is up and running it is time to make their dream a reality…Seward’s only ATV tours. For years Cynthia has held the permits to the Iditarod trail, finally it’s time to use them.
We are a blended family of six. Each of our daughters have a role in our businesses depending on their work and school schedules. If they aren’t setting up the tour, guiding the tour or taking pictures, they are probably gonna sell you a shirt or hat! Family is important to us, let us help you show yours the best Seward has to offer!! From flip flops to xtratufs, the George family is ready to get muddy and share their love of ATVs with you!!!
Frequently Asked Questions
Is it safe?
Just like any motorized vehicle, there are risks. We do our best to guide you and prepare you but it is best to have ATV experience. Still worried? Ask about our ride with a guide option!
Is there an age requirement?
Yes. You must be 18 and up to drive, passengers must be 8 and up. Please note, if your child cannot hold on unassisted behind the driver they cannot ride. We can refuse to allow anyone to tour if we feel it is unsafe due to behavior.
What should we bring?
This goes for all of Alaska…LAYERS! Be ready for anything. Alaska weather, especially Seward, can change quickly. Layers, gloves, rain boots and rain coats are necessary.
Do we tour in the rain?
It’s Alaska, if we wait for a clear day, we may wait a very long time! We go in all weather. There is no bad weather, only bad preparation.
